Simply put, there is no greater threat to secularism than Jesus Christ. If you take the order of creation in the Bible and reverse it, you will wind up with an outline of a secular worldview. For example, if God made all creatures subject to humankind, so secularism will fight for personhood for animals. And as God created male and female, secularism in turn declares that gender is a social construct decided by the individual and the community. It is a reactionary belief system.

There are a host of synonyms and incarnations of a secular worldview: Humanism, existentialism, atheism and postmodernism, to name a few. All embrace the idea that we live in a godless universe in which all creation and order springs from the human mind. Religion is tolerated as long as it is kept in the private realm and divorced from the significant activities of a society.

Under the current state of Western humanism or secularism, there are two pillars of thought used to enforce the dominance and growth of this belief system. The first pillar establishes sexual behavior as the ultimate human right, trumping all other freedoms. No defense is needed of this legal ordering - it originates from the human mind, draws power unto itself, and is cut off from Judeo-Christian values. All secular criteria are met and no “real” authority exists to challenge the ascendancy.

One grave threat of this first pillar of secularism is that its terms remain undefined. Frequent descriptions such as “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” are left purposely vague, and clinical definitions of these terms are avoided, as they may still offend a large segment of the public. Lawmakers will sometimes provide “suggested definitions” of the descriptions in lieu of precise legal interpretation. Thus society is surrendering its liberties to an ideal that can be redefined on the fly.

The second pillar of Western secularism is the eradication of public expression of Christianity. It basically fulfills and enhances the purpose of the first pillar. As sexual behavior has been legislated into the public square, Christianity has been legislated into the closet. Faith in God is treated like an old scrapbook that is occasionally admired behind closed doors. Religion may bring comfort and meaning to an individual, but it has no value to the real affairs of society. If God does not exist, why would it?

The secular concept of gender has proven to be the perfect wedge issue to separate nations from Judeo-Christian values. Sexual sin is no better or worse than other sins, but it has been hijacked by individuals with much broader and permanent goals. Leaving nothing to chance, Western secularists have made the goal of the first pillar of secularism the essence of the second pillar. The movement is global, calculated, and the target is the silencing of Christ.
