Cross Country

We finally had a nice cool cross country meet at the Tri County Show Down hosted by Mt. Lake on Saturday, Sept. 27. The morning meet followed a beautiful trail around the lake in Voss Park, Butterfield. Despite the soybean dust that coated the air from the nearby field being harvested, we had fantastic results; 100% of our varsity athletes hit their season’s best times!

Sleepy Eye GFWC Woman’s Club

The Sleepy Eye Woman’s Club met at Hawkins Chiropractic on September 16. The focus of the meeting was health and wellness. Molly Hawkins gave a presentation and tour of their renovated building. She entertained questions from club members. Hawkins Chiropractic uses gentle neurologically based chiropractic care for family members of all ages. They also provide chiropractic care for animals.

Runners compete against the heat

The Windom meet on Sept. 15 was our hottest meet of the year thus far. With temperatures pushing 90 degrees, the cross country athletes had an entirely new challenge added to their races. Once the gun went off, and the heat hit the runners, we saw several athletes from different teams drop out during the races and some physically negative effects took a hold of many athletes — including our own.
