Bass fishing tournament caps End of Summer Celebration

The entrants in the 1st Annual 1919 Classic Bass Tournament on Sleepy Eye Lake waited for the 7 a.m. start on Sunday, Aug. 22. There were 47 anglers and 18 boats on the lake; a total of 81 Largemouth Bass were caught. This new event was sponsored by 1919 Rootbeer and organized by AJ and Toby Arneson. Everyone enjoyed a cold 1919 after their time on the lake!

Nate and Dane Wenner from St. Peter won $500 for first place with their five fish coming in at 12.8 pounds. They also won $300 for the biggest bass caught weighing in at 5.2 pounds.
Justin Sellner and Caden Evers, along with teammate Dan Evers, all from Sleepy Eye, won second place and $300. Their five bass weighed in at 17.5 pounds.
