On Thursday, July 16 the MSHSL LEAD Networking team had their weekly meeting. It was determined at this meeting that a task force with the MSHSL is currently working on sport specific plans for this upcoming fall sports season.

Their ideas will be announced August 4 and are going to be based on different school opening scenarios and will likely be different for each sport.

Also, the MSHSL cannot make a decision currently until the MDE makes a decision on how schools will be reopening on Monday, July 27.

As it stands right now, fall sports are scheduled to begin as planned on August 17, but plans could change although the MSHSL is optimistic.

There have been rampant rumors the MSHSL may flip fall and spring sports, but there are currently no plans to do so. A danger in that could be that spring sports could be shutdown again in the fall and lose a full two seasons. A risk the MSHSL is hesitant to take.
