Robert (Bob) John Butterfield, 69, of Mankato left us, surrounded by his family on September 7, 2022, from heart disease. A private mass will be held at St. John’s Catholic Church in Mankato on Bob’s 70th birthday on October 1.
 Bob was born in Luverne in 1952 to William and Elaine Butterfield. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Sleepy Eye in 1970 and joined the Armed Forces. Bob and Donna were married on February 24, 1973. Bob was a man of deep faith and a devoted Catholic. Bob’s greatest joy was spending time with his family.
 He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, the love of his life, Donna (Clyne) of North Mankato; and three children, Dawn Butterfield of Carver, Ryan (Shanda) Butterfield of Farmington, and Lisa (Mike) Fritz of St. Peter; along with eight grandchildren. Bob is survived by his six brothers and sisters; Bill (Marsha) Butterfield of Willmar, Diane (Jerry) Cohen of Celebration, Fla., Jim (Terrie) Butterfield of Willmar, Sue Ann (Marlin) Maresch of Lake Lillian, Mary (Jeff) Schimschock of Atwater, and Mark (Kris) Butterfield of Waseca.
 Bob is preceded in death by his parents, William and Elaine and in-laws William (Willie) and Hilda Clyne; and brother-in-law, Jerry Clyne.
