Patrick was born April 20, 1941, in Leavenworth Township, the son of John and Mathilda (Fischer) Rosenhamer. He attended Quailtrap grade school and graduated in 1959 from St. Mary’s High School. He married Joan Dummer on August 14, 1965, at St. George Catholic Church. Patrick and Joan raised four children on the family farm where he lived his entire life.
Patrick led a faithful Catholic life from creation to redemption through his commitment to the church, the Saints, the Sacraments, the Bible, and his belief in God’s will. He demonstrated his love for his wife, children, grandchildren, parents, and relatives throughout his life with his humor, support, and involvement in their lives. Farming was his passion as he worked with the miracle of the soil leading to his favorite season, the fall harvest. He was connected to the gifts of God and the circle of life which he experienced with the crops he raised and dairy animals in his care. He derived personal enjoyment in nature through everything including songbirds, bushes and trees, deer, pheasants, and the garden. The scents of the soil, crops, and plants told of the seasons of the year and bounty received. He played baseball as a young man, coached Little League, and watched many Twins games. An appreciation for many kinds of music, an interest in history and our freedom, time with friends, and Christmas shopping for family brought him enjoyment.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joan, of Sleepy Eye; children, David (Chris) of New Ulm, Brenda (Chris) Duesman of North Oaks, Glen (Janine) of Northfield, Brad (Jessica) of Polk City, Iowa; grandchildren, Allison, Anthony, Michelle, Daniel, Amelia, Lydia, Louis, Ella, and Nora; brother Dennis (Mildred); sisters-in-law, Ann Powers, Milly Hillesheim, Marge Dummer; brother-in-law, David (Nikki) Dummer, many nieces and nephews and their families.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Leander, in-laws Angela Rosenhammer, Donat and Vernita Dummer, James Powers, James and Bernice Palmer, Fr. Leo Dummer, Melvin Hillesheim, and Joseph Dummer.
