The ice was out on Sleepy Eye Lake Friday morning, April 14. This photo shows the little shards of broken ice riding waves into shore (too bad the photo doesn’t have sound - it was a very pleasant tinkling sound). Ron Zinniel, who took over keeping a record of ice out dates from his dad years ago, said the earliest ice out date they recorded was March 1, 1988 and the latest was April 29, 2018. Deb Moldaschel
