It was Walk and Bike to School Day at SEPS on Friday and at St. Mary's on Monday.

Sleepy Eye Elementary School held their Walk and Bike to School Day on Friday, May 10. Groups of students and adult volunteers headed to school from various points throughout town. St. Mary’s Elementary School observed the day on Monday, May 13, as school busses dropped students off a few blocks from school to walk with police officers or teachers, who also walked with neighborhood children already on foot. St. Mary’s Elementary Principal Mary Gangelhoff gave participating students Bike/Walk to School stickers. SEMC gave all Sleepy Eye first graders new bike helmets last week. The traditional bike rodeos were canceled due to bad weather, but Chief Andres and Ambulance Coordinator visited classrooms to give a lesson on safety.
