Sleepy Eye graduate Lauren Klein has begun her freshman season as a Mustang at SMSU and just returned from Florida. The Mustangs begin NSIC play shortly.

The SMSU Mustangs softball season began in the middle of February, but they packed their bags and headed to Florida for a slew of games for a week. The Mustangs participated in doubleheaders Mar. 10 through Mar. 13.

Lauren Klein, 2018 graduate of Sleepy Eye Public walked on to the Mustangs softball team last fall. The former All-State and All-Conference winner has participated in a few games for the Mustangs already this season. Early on, Klein has been counted on for her speed and baserunning.

The Mustangs went 1-7 in Florida and now carry an overall record of 5-7 on the season. SMSU has now returned home and will face the University of Sioux Falls on Tuesday, Mar. 26 in Marshall as they open up NSIC conference play.
