The Indians held their second meeting against the Long Sox  in Lamberton on Sunday, July 15.
Long Sox 9
Indians 3
After a tough loss to the Springfield Tigers, the Indians had to jump in the paddy wagon and travel to Lamberton to play the Long Sox. The Indians won the first matchup earlier this season, but since then the Long Sox found their stride. They currently sit in second, behind Stark, in the Tomahawk East standings, with a record of 15-4 after the win over the Indians.
Long Sox’s pitching was decent throughout, enough to give some Indians trouble. They went scoreless in the first, while the Sox sewed together a five-run first inning.
Alex Woitas scored for the Indians in the second, after singling and an RBI by Marc Riederer. That would be the only run scored for the Indians until the sixth inning. The Sox slapped two more runs to their total, bringing the score up to 7-1.
Finally, in the sixth inning, the Indians scored two more runs. Sean Salfer scored, and Jared Beltz got the RBI. Alex Woitas again charged another run scored. Eric Riederer would smash a double that would bring in Woitas.
The Long Sox then added another two nails to the Indians coffin, that would ultimately lower them into a hole they couldn’t dig their way out of.
Sam Tessmer was on the mound for the Indians and took the loss. He recorded eight hits, nine runs, and two strikeouts.
Alex Woitas finished at the plate, going 2 for 3. Eric Riederer went 2 for 4 with an RBI and Alex Sellner went 1 for 4 with an RBI.
The Indians have three more games remaining and host Courtland Wednesday, July 18.
