Agnes I. Piotter, age 105, of Sleepy Eye, died on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at the Sleepy Eye Care Center.

Agnes I. Piotter 105, of Sleepy Eye, died on May 20, 2018, at Sleepy Eye Care Center. Service will be held at the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sleepy Eye, on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m., at the church. The clergy will be Pastor Chris Cordes. Interment will be at Home Cemetery in Sleepy Eye. Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. Online condolences may be left for the family at

Agnes Irene Piotter was born on April 19, 1913 on the family farm in Renville County, the daughter of Herman and Augusta (Schultz) Kuester. She attended country school through 6th grade and then attended Wellington Lutheran School. Agnes married George William Piotter on June 24, 1931 at Wellington Lutheran Church. The couple farmed near Elmore for six years, then moved to Sleepy Eye in 1936. George passed away in November of 1973. Agnes continued to live on the farm until 1976 and then moved to Sleepy Eye. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, gardening, reading and embroidering. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid and church choir.

She is survived by her children: Eileen Woodford of Redwood Falls, Evelyn (Roger) Ohm of Litchfield, Verona (Jerry) Munsterman of Villard, Marian (Dean) Irlbeck of Des Moines, Iowa, Jeanette (Paul) of New Ulm, Lucille (Donald) Lee of Fairfax, Lois (Tom) Wersal of New Ulm, LuVerne (Irene) Piotter of New Ulm, Bernard (Sharon) Piotter of Halloway, Marvin (Connie) Piotter of Sisseton, S.D., Delbert Piotter of Granite Falls, Ronald Piotter of Anchorage, Ala, David (Juanita) Piotter of Sleepy Eye, Steven (Rita) Piotter of Sleepy Eye, son-in-law, David Postel of Sleepy Eye, 87 grandchildren, 177 great grandchildren and 42 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George in 1973, sons: Ervin, Eugene and Dwayne; daughter, Dorothy Postel; son-in-law, Donald Woodford; brother, Robert Kuester; granddaughters: Susan Gibson and Julie Munterman; sisters: Esther (Arvid) Peterson, Alvina (Leo) Tallman and Mata (Ben) Ulrich.
