A capacity crowd of three hundred people took time out of their schedules last Friday night to view the robotic milking system at Loran and Heidi Sellner’s fifth generation dairy farm, southeast of Sleepy Eye, at the annual Twilight Meeting of the Brown County Holstein Association.

As the robots were milking, attendees were also able to try their hand at judging three classes of Holstein cows. Angela Sellner, employed by Trans Ova Genetics in Iowa, served as the official judge. There were hayride tours of Sellner Dairy Farm and Charlotte Backman provided and shaped balloons for the youngsters. Mother Superior, also known as Linda Seifert, hosted the Newlywed Game and offered her usual “expert” advice to the couples.

Local Brown County Dairy Princesses, Bethany Seifert, Becca Rosenhammer, Natalie Sellner and Isabella and Crystal Portner spoke briefly about their favorite memories of growing up on a dairy farm. The Brown County Holstein Association expressed appreciation to the Sellner family for their hard work and dedication in making the annual Twilight Meeting another a huge success.
