Sleepy Eye Medical Center administration and Board of Directors have decided to demolish the building in the near future.

The old Sleepy Eye Clinic building, which has been unoccupied since 2004, was damaged on June 10 when a tree limb fell on the building during a storm. After lengthy consideration of options for the structure, Sleepy Eye Medical Center administration and Board of Directors have decided to demolish the building in the near future.

According to Kevin Sellheim, SEMC Administrator, the building was also in need of many structural repairs, including windows, roofing, ceiling and more, and costs of such repairs would have been substantial.

There are no future plans for the site at this point in time.
