A Sleepy Eye tradition, the Easter Egg Hunt, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 26 in Allison Park. Sponsors of the event, Sleepy Eye Medical Center and SouthPoint Financial Credit Union, have a fun time planned for the children.
The Easter Egg Hunt will be divided into three age groups: 0-4, 5-7 and 8 and up. Upon arrival, participants should find their area and line up for the hunt, which will begin at 1 p.m. sharp. In the event of inclement weather, the hunt will take place at the Orchid Inn.
Kids will have the opportunity to hunt for 100 dyed eggs and 1,250 plastic candy-filled eggs. The real eggs, dyed by residents of Divine Providence Community Home, will be marked as prize winners. Prizes, donated by local businesses, include free treat coupons from Dairy Queen, Subway and Hardee’s and juice boxes from Schutz Family Foods.
All children will receive a goodie bag that includes an Easter activity book. Special guests who will be at the Easter Egg Hunt include Miss Sleepy Eye Royalty, Little Mr. and Miss Holiday, the 2016 Miss Sleepy Eye candidates and the Easter Bunny.
