“Real generosity toward the future lies in giving all to the present.” No one understands this better than four young families with children attending St. Mary’s Catholic School who were determined to hold an event benefiting the school like none other. Judd and Jen Walter, Tim and Cassie Schwartz, Brent and Rachel Kucera and Sam and Jess Bloedow began brainstorming more than a year ago to come up with the first Caribbean Knights Party.

“It was precisely their enthusiasm that generated excitement within the community more than any staff member could have. As a result they surpassed all our expectations,” said development director, Chris Heiderscheidt. The Caribbean Knights Party was held on Feb. 20, with almost 600 people in attendance to enjoy a fun night at the school with live music, drinks, food, games and a silent and live auction. The event generated over $75,000 in proceeds for the school. According to the committee, “Our vision and goal was to provide an unforgettable night for everybody while raising funds for our wonderful school to help insure another 130 years of Catholic education.”
