Sunday evening the Miss Sleepy Eye Ambassador Organization held their annual Meet the Candidates event. These seven young ladies had their photos taken by Mary Woitas - pictured catching a group shot here, made posters for the grandfriends, learned more about the upcoming events and filled out their candidate scholarship essay. This year’s candidates are, front from left: Emily Ericksen and Jimena Arroyo; middle: Alexa Pelzel, Adelinde Hoffmann, Meriden Andres, and Katie Gonzalez; and back: Katelyn Tauer. Miss Sleepy EYe coordinator Kelly Blick said they are having so much fun already, it’s going to be a great year. Coronation will be on Saturday, March 9 at 7 p.m. at the Sleepy Eye Event Center.
