Leona is survived by her husband of over 65 years, Armin Lendt; sons, Ricky (Bernie) Lendt of Lamberton, Randy (Joyce) Lendt of North Mankato, David (Pamela) Lendt of Nicollet; eight grandchildren; seven great-grand-children; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Helen Elliott, Homer Warren, Dorothy Warren; and Wayne Gericke; sisters-in-law, Martha Gericke, Leona Gericke; and brother-in-law, Paul Elliott.

Leona Ann Gericke was born December 12, 1935 to William and Bessie (Miller) Gericke on the country home in Wheeler, Jasper County, Illinois. She was baptized at Grace Lutheran Church on February 16, 1936, confirmed in her faith on April 10, 1949 in Champaign, Ill., and graduated from Champaign High School in 1953 at 17 years old. Shortly after graduating, Leona met Armin Lendt while he was stationed with the Air Force. They were united in marriage on June 21, 1956 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Champaign. The couple then relocated to Sleepy Eye and their union was blessed with three children. In addition to being a mother, Leona also worked as a bookkeeper for W. Lewis Company, NAPA, Big A, Broich’s, and helped with farming and repair. In her free time, Leona enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, canning, cooking, puzzles, helping the church with Ladies Aid, and spending time with her family and friends. She especially loved all the time she was able to spend with her sons, grandchildren, and great-grand-children and tried to be there whenever anyone needed her.

Leona will be dearly missed by those that knew her. Blessed be her memory.
