Esther Windschitl, 75, of Comfrey died on August 7, 2022, at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center, St. James.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye and will continue on Friday from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at the church. There will be a parish prayer service at 4 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday.
Funeral Service will be held at Church of the Japanese Martyrs, Leavenworth, on Friday, August 12, 2022, at 10:30 a.m.
The clergy will be Father Mark Steffl.
Interment will be at Japanese Martyrs Catholic Cemetery in Leavenworth.
Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.

Esther was born on September 23, 1946, in Sleepy Eye, the daughter of Clement and Hilda (Domeier) Hoffman. She attended District #28 country school in rural Sleepy Eye. Esther was united in marriage to Marvin Windschitl on October 31, 1964, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. The couple made their home and farmed in Mulligan Township. Esther was a member of the Church of the Japanese Martyrs in Leavenworth where she was active in the CCW and Christian Mothers. She enjoyed flowers, playing cards and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin of Comfrey, sons, Roman of Mankato, Leon (Denise) of Worthington, son-in-law, Tim Anderson of Comfrey, 3 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, siblings, Rosemary Franta of New Ulm, Chucky (Violet) Hoffman of Aurora, CO, Paul (Eileen) Hoffman of Hanska, sisters-in-law, Doris Hoffman of Searles & Rhony Hoffman of New Ulm. Esther is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughters, Marie Windschitl & Monica Anderson, brothers, Pat & Clem and brother-in-law, Cletus Franta.
