David William Pinzka passed away peacefully on August 14, 2022, at the age of 80. He was born in New Ulm on August 25, 1941, to Pauline and William Pinzka of Sleepy Eye. David attended school in Sleepy Eye and graduated as class valedictorian in 1959. He was president of his class, member of the student council and played football, basketball and baseball. He attended St. John’s University, Collegeville for two years and then transferred to the University of Minnesota, majoring in electrical engineering. He received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1964. He began his professional career with Sperry Rand Corporation, which became Univac, then Unisys. He retired from Lockheed Martin as a computer programmer in 2018. David was preceded in death by his parents, William and Pauline Pinzka. Survived by his wife of 49 years, Nancy Hallman Pinzka, and his sister, Marlene Pinzka OSF. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Klecatsky & Som Eagan Chapel, 1580 Century Point, Eagan from 3 to 8 p.m., with a reflection of David’s life at 5 p.m. Private interment – Acacia Park Cemetery in Mendota Heights. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to St. Mary’s High School, Sleepy Eye and St. John’s University, Collegeville.
