Florence Current, 83, formerly of Delano, originally from Sleepy Eye, died on August 31, 2022, at the Sanctuary of St. Cloud. Funeral Service will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye, on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be on Thursday for one hour prior to the service in the north entrance of the church. The clergy will be Father Mark Steffl. Interment will be at the Current family cemetery in rural Sleepy Eye. Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com. Florence Mae (Weiss) Current was born on May 27, 1939, to Lawrence and Anna (Saffert) Weiss in Sleepy Eye. She grew up and lived on the family farm until she was united in marriage to William “Bill” Current on May 25, 1957, at St. Mary’s Church in Sleepy Eye. After marriage, Flossie and Bill moved to Delano where they raised their children, Allen, Timothy, Cathy and Beverly. Flossie enjoyed gardening, baking, canning, crocheting doilies and afghans and spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. Flossie passed peacefully with family at her side. Flossie is survived by her children; sons, Allen and Timothy; daughters, Cathy (Doug) Grossinger and Beverly (Kevin) Hillesheim; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary (Doyle) Krypzick; sisters-in-law; Karen Weiss, Donna (Current) Battig, Muriel Current and Ramona Current. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, parents, brothers, Sylvester, Linus and Victor; sisters, Viola, Lillian and Margaret.
