6th grade JO VB team wins three tournaments

The Sleepy Eye Public School 6th grade JO Volleyball team competed in three MSF 12U tournaments this spring. They took home first place in all three tournaments; the tournaments - New London, Hutchinson and Fairmont. Bad weather beating golf season

With high expectations for a good season, the Sleepy Eye United golf team hasn’t had many chances to show what they can do this spring. Most scheduled meets have been postponed due to the awful weather. The team last had a meet on April 11 when the boys defeated host GFW and Springfield; the girls were also successful that day with the other two teams not carding complete teams.

SE Indians pick up 3 wins

After a week of bad weather, the Sleepy Eye Ball Park was the sight for a baseball game on Tuesday, April 19, when the Indians hosted the Wabasso Rabbits. Sleepy Eye 4 Wabasso 0 Jackson Huiras went 5 innings, giving up 3 hits, 0 runs, 0 walks, and got 9 strikeouts.

Wildcats continue to win

Still too cold out, but the River Valley Wildcats competed at Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial-Nicollet on Tuesday, April 19 anyway. The Wildcats competed against host Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial-Nicollet, St. Clair/Immanuel Lutheran, Jackson County Central, Mt. Lake Area, Mankato Loyola/Cleveland, and M/T/GHEC/ML. Host LCWM-N won both the girls and boys meets. River Valley finished second in girls and third in boys.

Baseball teams split doubleheader

The weather was perfect for an afternoon at the Sleepy Eye Ball Park on Monday, April 11, when the Indians and Knights opened the season with a doubleheader. The teams split for the day, with the Indians dominating in game 1 for a 13-1 win and the Knights coming back for a 6-1 win in game 2.
