SEU golfers at State this week

Seven Sleepy Eye United golfers played in the Class A State Golf Tournament on Tuesday and Wednesday this week at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Becker. The girls team of Liz Schwint, Meriden Andres, Sam Price, Chloe Walter, Jaci Domeier and Kiara Murphy, along with individual qualifier on the boys team, Carson Erickson, played in hot conditions Tuesday.

Stark Rookies win New Ulm Tournament

The Stark Rookie Baseball team traveled to New Ulm on June 11 and 12 to compete in the 10U, class A division of the River Rat Classic. They started off Saturday morning defeating Lake Crystal Welcomme Memorial 14-5. Game two saw them take down Eagan 20-4. They finished the day with another nice win over New Ulm, 15-4. These three wins put them into Sunday’s championship game against New Ulm. The strong hitting and pitching continued on Sunday as they won the championship game 19-3 over New Ulm. The team is coached by Adam Fischer, Matt Mathiowetz, John Pelzel, and Chad Armbruster. Lady Knights’ season ends

The Lady Knights played two games in the Section 2A softball tournament on Tuesday, May 31—a decisive win over MCW and a tournament ending loss to New Ulm Cathedral. SESM 10, MCW 0 Julia Helget was the starting pitcher, completing 4 innings.
