The New Ulm Eagles girls hockey team played their first game of the season on Saturday, Nov. 12 against the Packers of South St. Paul at Doug Woog Arena. The Packers scored three goals in the first period and another in the third, handing the Eagles a 4-0 loss.

The St. Mary’s Knights were up against perennial powerhouse, the Mayer Lutheran Crusaders, in the quarterfinal round of the Section 2A volleyball playoffs on Nov. 1, played at Sibley East High School. The Crusaders proved too much for the Knights, getting the win and ending the Knights season.

SESM/SEPS/NUC Cross Country runner, Noah Christensen, competed in the State Cross Country meet on Saturday, Nov. 5, at St. Olaf College in Northfield among a field of 159 runners. Coach Lisa Hagen said, “Our whole team is so proud of Noah, he had an amazing season and earned his position at state. It’s been a privilege to coach such a hard working, motivated athlete.
