Tough road streak for Indians

The Lady Knights won big at MVL on Tuesday, Feb. 7.
Last Tuesday, Feb. 7, the Knights boys basketball team played at home, against MVL, for a tough conference loss but came back with wins in their next three games.
The Indians girls basketball team notched another string of victories in the past week, starting with a home win over the Cedar Mountain Cougars on Tuesday, Feb. 7.
•Boys Hockey: The Eagles dropped one to Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato, 2-1, at home on Feb. 7. Austin Uecker got the assist on the Eagles lone goal. Feb. 9 the Eagles defeated Waseca, 6-1, in Waseca. Uecker scored a goal 54 seconds into the game and also had the Eagles final goal in the third period. The Eagles finished the regular season at home against Hopkins on Feb. 14. Sections begin Feb. 21.
The Sleepy Eye Indians girls basketball team soundly defeated the New Ulm Cathedral Greyhounds at home Thursday, Feb. 2.
•Boys Hockey: The Eagles three more wins since last week’s paper — 5-3 over Rochester Lourdes at home on Jan. 31; 3-2 win at Windom on Feb. 3 and 6-1 win at Mound Westonka on Feb. 4. Austin Uecker scored 2 goals and 1 assist against Rochester Lourdes, 2 assists at Windom and 4 assists at Mound Westonka. The Eagles hosted Litchfield Tuesday and play at Waseca Thursday. Their final regular season game is at home on Feb. 14 against Hopkins. Section playoffs start Feb. 21.
Due to a snowed-out December game, just one week after their 67-58 home win over the Rabbits, the Lady Knights played them again on Tuesday, Jan. 31, this time in Wabasso. The result was the same—a win for the Knights—this time by a wider margin.
