The Sleepy Eye United golfers got in their first meet on Tuesday, April 18 when they hosted New Ulm High School. •SEU girls 210, New Ulm 227 “Great start for our girls,” said Coach Bryant Mages, “210 is just a stroke off of our season low from a year ago, so we are definitely off to a good starting point.” Individual scores, top four count for team score: Liz Schwint - 48 (Medalist); Kiara Murphy - 53; Chloe Walter - 54; Sam Price - 55; Meriden Andres - 59.
The Sleepy Eye Indians boys basketball team recently had their season end awards program. Coach Shane Heiderscheidt presented the following awards.

Head Coach: Kayla Mathiowetz, Varsity Assistant: Jill Weiss; JV Coach: Katie Bloedow, Junior High Coaches: Crystal Ibberson and Angie Ibberson. Last year’s record: 20-6, losing in a game against NUC for third in the section.

The River Valley Wildcats Track and Field Team is a co-op of Sleepy Eye Public, Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s, Cedar Mountain and Springfield schools. The track at Sleepy Eye High School is where home meets and outdoors practices are held.
The River Valley Wildcats track team was back at MSU-Mankato for another indoor meet on Tuesday, April 4 at MSU-Mankato. This meet was hosted by Mankato West and River Valley was the only Class A team competing against Class AA teams Marshall, Waseca, and Mankato West. Coach Heidi McCone was happy with the Wildcats’ performance, saying, “we competed against all AA teams and held our own!” Top finishers for boys 400 meter run: Nathan Sandgren, 3rd, 59.24 PR (personal record).
