Girls take season’s first conference golf competition
The Sleepy Eye United girls improved on their second nine Monday to edge MVL by four strokes and win the first leg of season conference play in New Ulm.Sleepy Eye shot 225 over their first nine holes but regrouped for a 204 on the second set for a team score of 429.

Sleepy Eye splits first two softball games
Sleepy Eye started their softball season last week primed to knock off one of the top teams in the conference but lost 5-3 at home after failing to score on a couple of bases-loaded opportunities.The Indians had three on with no outs in the second and loaded the bases again in the third with one out.
Indians build early lead but drop baseball opener to Greyhounds
The Indians carried a three-run lead late into their season opener against the defending section champs but couldn’t hold on for the victory.Cathedral scored three times in the sixth inning to tie and added the winning run in the seventh to down Sleepy Eye 7-6 on April 4 in New Ulm.Austin Uecker went 4-4, stole four bases and knocked in two runs for the Indians.
