Ask a Trooper – How to handle a tire blow out

Question: In summertime I notice a lot more tire treads on the roads, can you write about what to do if you have a tire blow out while driving? Answer: It is important to monitor proper tire pressure and your tire condition and hopefully you can avoid a tire blow out. In the warmer months the hot air can cause your tires to increase pressure while the colder months can cause the air in your tires to condense, lowering the tire pressure.

Vision is seeing the invisible

“When I was a young man, I wanted to change the world. I found it was difficult to change the world, so I tried to change my nation. When I found I couldn’t change the nation, I began to focus on my town. I couldn’t change the town and as an older man, I tried to change my family.

First - something of great importance. See the police report below. This pertains to an incident on Tuesday but both Chief Andres and I felt it was important to inform the public and remind parents to talk to their kids about it as a safety discussion.

Question: I really liked your recent article about the dangers of putting your feet up on the dash while driving and air bags. With the way vehicles are changing, can you talk about the other air bags, like side curtains and such? Thank you.

The Calling of Love

Greetings to one and all, and welcome to my little corner of the world. This is the coddiwomple of a pastor totally engrossed in this new land in which I have been so humbly and thankfully planted. Spring has sprung with such amazingly diverse voices and expressions, that I am left breathless. In Hawaii, even the weather is laid back and rarely in any hurry, but here in Southwest Minnesota, just like the expression goes, “Don’t like the weather? Just wait five minutes.”

Oh, the things we must learn to accept. I’m not so sure we’ve all really accepted that we no longer have a stop light on Main Street and First Avenue and now we have to accept that the driving lanes on First Avenue in downtown are just plain weird.
