Waterskiing is kind of a family thing for us. To be clear, it is a family thing that comes from Tom’s family. His dad was a fanatic about waterskiing when he was a young father. Tom and his siblings learned to ski as children. I got a chance to try when I was 17. Let me tell you, Tom’s dad was very patient as I fell about 15 times but wouldn’t give up. Finally that day, I did get up on those skis. My two ski days lasted for many years until my legs just quit boosting me out of the water.

I really like musical theater but over the past several years have noticed a bad habit I have. Even after covering the pre-show publicity for local musicals and knowing I would enjoy the show, I often end up not going. (Then I regret it when I hear the rave reviews.)

Last week on Thursday and Friday, the historical society had a food stand fundraiser. I am on the board and volunteered on Thursday afternoon. Even though we took a two-year pandemic break from this project, it turned out we still knew how to do it. It was very hot those days, but we think we did pretty good, and appreciate everyone who patronized our stand.
