Picnic on the Farm set for Sunday, June 22
The Brown County Farm Bureau announced that Sellner Dairy Farm will host this year’s Picnic on the Farm on Sunday, June 22 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cheeseburgers will be grilled by the Redwood Area Cattlemen’s Association and be available until they are gone. A free shuttle bus will be available at Sigel Ball Park (18978 Grandview Road, New Ulm — just down the road from Sellner Dairy Farm). Limited handicap accessible parking will be available at the farm.
Forgiveness isn’t easy, but we all need it
I have been talking a lot about forgiveness lately, because in the Apostle’s Creed, it specifically affirms that, as Christians, we believe in the forgiveness of sins. We believe that God forgives our sins, and we recognize the importance of forgiving the sins of others. As the Lord’s Prayer teaches: “forgive us our sins/debts/trespasses as we forgive those who sin/trespass against us.”
City council to start 2026 budget process
Each summer the city council works on the next year’s budget in a process that involves several meetings and much preparation by City Manager Bob Elston. The council is required to submit a preliminary budget to Brown County in September. That budget can be revised downward before the final budget is submitted in December, but it cannot increase.

June Yard of the Month
St. Mary’s School Campus was selected as June Yard of the Month. If anyone in the community notices an outstanding yard, they should contact Kurk Kramer to nominate it, with the name and address. Adopt-a-Senior Programs Wrap up for the Year
The end of the year is a time to wrap up the Adopt-a-Senior Program for FFA members. We had a get-together for the Adopt-a-Senior Program where we went to the Sleepy Eye Rehabilitation Center and Countryside to play bingo with the residents on Friday, May 30.

Plans well underway for Ross Park Apartments improvements
Slow and steady is the name of the game for the ongoing Ross Park renovation project. The complex, which was awarded state monies earlier this year, is in need of significant repairs on its plumbing, sewer system, and roof, as well as new doors and windows.
