Herald-Dispatch to transition to tabloid format in early June

CherryRoad Media CEO Jeremy Gulban came to Sleepy Eye on Tuesday to speak about the new digitally printed newspaper style that is coming to Sleepy Eye, likely for the first issue in June. Gulban hosted a community meeting at the Sleepy Eye Brewing Company that afternoon where attendees could see samples of the new format and hear about other new initiatives that will be rolled out with the new newspaper.

Speech team wraps up regular season

On Saturday, March 29 the River Valley speakers competed in the Knights “Duel of the Fates” tournament in Tyler at RTR High School. This tournament was originally scheduled for earlier in the month but postponed due to weather. Though the postponement did affect the number of speakers able to attend this tournament, the River Valley speakers still worked hard and earned the first place team award.

13 FFA Members Compete in Agriscience Fair

Thirteen members of the Sleepy Eye FFA competed in the Roland Peterson Agriculture Education Science Fair held on March 13 at the University of Minnesota, St. Paul Campus. The Minnesota FFA Association uses this invitational as the Minnesota FFA’s Agriscience Fair. The highest-ranking FFA member or team of members with an agricultural project will advance to the national competition.
