• The reactivation of the Sleepy Eye Ambassadors group was the main discussion at the Chamber Board meeting in February. I attended the meeting and will be a part of streamlining the guidelines, looking at the activities that the group will be taking part in to get the group active once again, and a number of other details pertaining to membership, group responsibilities, and functions.

Brown County District Court

Nicholas Martinka, age 29, of Sleepy Eye has been charged with five felony counts of Cellular Telephone Counterfeiting-2nd Degree; one felony count of Harassment - Aggravated Violations - by False Impersonation; and one Gross Misdemeanor county of Harassment - Causes or reasonably expect to cause substantial emotional distress to other person.

BBC Leadership group visits Sleepy Eye

On Thursday, Feb. 16, the Bridging Brown County Leadership group met in Sleepy Eye, holding a morning session receiving the results of the Myers- Briggs personality test they took the previous month. The group visited the Deport Museum and a number of local businesses—Mark Thomas Company, Serendipity Boutique, Miller Sellner, and the Mages building at 229 Main West. Mages Land Company & Auction Services was the sponsor for the day.
