Volunteers needed
The Sleepy Eye Holiday Lights in Motion group is seeking volunteers to assist in clean up at Sportsmen’s Park from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 29. Any amount- of time you can give will be appreciated. The tasks will include picking up sticks and garbage. Service Hours available.

Audition for TCA’s production of ‘Beauty and the Beast”
The GFW T-Bird Community Arts will be conducting auditions for all roles for the fully staged Broadway version of “Beauty and the Beast” on Sunday, May 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. and Monday, May 8 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the GFW Jr./ Sr. High School Auditorium in Winthrop.

• Two Sleepy Eye residents have been charged in Brown County District. Court, with several counts assault, and child abuse. Kyle Thomas Nason, address listed as 817 1st. Avenue South, Sleepy Eye; and Kaitlynn Rae Hackbart.h, address listed as 201 Main St.. W #1, have each been charged with three Felony counts: third degree assault-victim under four; third degree assault-past, pattern of child abuse; and Malicious punishment of a child-child under four.


Farmfest Calls for 2023 Woman Farmer of the Year nominations
IDEAg Group LLC., producers of Minnesota Farmfest, seeks nominations for the fourth-annual Farmfest Woman Farmer of the Year Award. The nomination period ends May 19 and the award will be presented at Farmfest in August.

Congratulations to SEHS Knowledge Bowl team on great State Tournament accomplishment
The Sleepy Eye High School Knowledge Bowl team took fifth place at the State Tournament, held at Cragun’s Resort in Brainerd April 13-14. The year had been strong for the team, taking top honors at nearly every meet since the start of the season in December.
