Teddy Bears for Bridget drive is underway

The Knights of Columbus Teddy Bears for Bridget drive is underway, with teddy bears available for a $20 donation at many Sleepy Eye locations and in the surrounding communities. The Knights received a donation of $2,500 for the project from the Servicemen’s Club’s charitable gambling fund. James Jeffrey Ludewig, age 34, of Sleepy Eye, has been charged in Brown County District Court with Felony assault- 2nd degree-dangerous weapon; and with Misdemeanor domestic assault-commits act to cause fear of immediate bodily harm or death. According to the Statement of Probably Cause, on April 3 a deputy with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported domestic disturbance at a rural Sleepy Eye address. Victim 1 had called 911 saying Ludewig had threatened her with a knife; dispatch said they heard yelling and loud banging in the background and then lost contact with Victim 1.
