EDA Update

The EDA Board met on June 24. In the financial report it was noted that there was finally a payment made on the Shane’s Tire loan account after three months of delinquent payment efforts. Also, the EDA loan for business renovations that was awarded to Sleepy Eye Repair in 2015 was paid off this past month. The EDA Board also approved the annual financial commitment to the Small Business Development Center in Mankato. The SBDC has helped many of our local businesses with business plan development, business operations, cashflow management and financial analysis, marketing, website development, and making other financial decisions as they consider business startups and/or expansions. The EDA requires all applicants for EDA assistance to meet with the SBDC prior to receiving any local EDA financial assistance.

The fire was greedy about what it took, turning the Rehbein family’s belongings into unrecognizable clumps of ash. Everything, from family heirlooms to baby photos, was destroyed.
