Living to Serve during holiday season and all year
Some know this line - Living to Serve - as the last in the FFA Motto. For Sleepy Eye FFA members, service may be one of the first words they think of when they think of what FFA is all about.

The Sleepy Eye Blood Drive on Jan. 4 had a great response from donors as the Red Cross continues to experience a severe shortage of blood. The goal for the community drive was 96 units of blood. Despite 14 deferrals and 18 no shows, 108 units were collected, including 71 whole Blood and 37 Power Reds. Caleb Siefkes was a first time donor

I would like to remind everyone about the parking ordnances in town both on a normal day and when a snow emergency is declared. The ordnance in town is that a vehicle must move every 48 hours. To comply with the ordnance the vehicle must leave the block to have considered moved. Going out every two days and rolling it forward one foot does not satisfy the ordinance.

We hear a lot about new year’s resolutions this time of the year. Now, more than at any other time, people think about making changes in their lives. This often involves things like getting more exercise, eating healthier foods, or spending more time with family. Or people focus their resolutions on accomplishing a specific goal related to work or home. These resolutions almost always have one thing in common. It is not just any change in our behavior or life, but a positive one. We make such changes believing this will improve our life, our health, or our relationships. This is a good thing.
