The University of Wisconsin-Stout announced Alexa Owens of Sleepy Eye was named to the Dean's List for the fall 2021 semester for earning a GPA of 3.5 or above. North Dakota State University announced the following students from Sleepy Eye have been named to the fall semester Dean's List for achieving a GPA of 3.50 or higher: Lexie Anderson, Sophia Portner, and Kadon Strong.

The Miss Sleepy Eye Ambassador Organization began their 75th Anniversary celebration year on Jan. 30, when the 2022 Miss Sleepy Eye candidates attended the Candidate Kickoff to have their official photos taken, make posters for the local nursing homes, and learn more about the opportunities that await them in the coming year. The 2022 Miss Sleepy Eye Candidates are Presley Bauer, Katelyn Rutscher and Natalie Marti.
Don't miss the Sleepy Eye Sportsmen's Club's 40th Annual Fishing Derby on Sleepy Eye Lake this Sunday, Feb. 6. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. with contest fishing from Noon to 3 p.m. Come out to the lake and enjoy the fishing, friendly atmosphere, food, and door and raffle prizes— Grand Prize Raffle drawing held at 3:15 p.m. There are cash prizes and trophies for the three largest fish in six categories.

The January EDA Board Meeting is the annual planning and goal setting meeting for the upcoming year. The EDA Board discusses, considers, and then works to put forth efforts to complete the goals that it sets at this extended meeting.
