Foundation donates $25,000 to Huey helicopter

The $25,000 matching gift from the L.A. Amundson Ohana Foundation for the Huey helicopter project was recently presented to the American Legion Post 7 committee by several members of the First Security Bank staff. Lions Club Students of the Month for March

Natalie Marti is a senior at St. Mary’s High School. She was Cheer Captain this past fall and has been in school musicals throughout high school. She had a lead role in this year’s production of “Elf.” Natalie also sings in the student Schola choir and church Cecialian Choir. She belongs to the Minnesota Honor Society, and is in FFA and 4-H. Natalie participated in Science Fair in high school and won state awards. She works as a CNA at Divine Providence and is self-employed on the family farm.

Seniors report on class trip

Several members of the senior class attended the April 13 meeting of the Sleepy Eye School Board to present a report on their recent class trip to Orlando. The students told about each day’s activities and showed a slide show of photos from the trip. Class advisor, Mrs. Caitlyn Pietig, and the students agreed that staying in a hotel connected to the Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure parks was a good decision as it allowed the students to visit one or other of the parks as they wished. The students also felt the time spent at Cocoa Beach was fun and valuable as some students hadn’t seen the ocean before.

Easter Egg Hunt delights children

Sixty FFA members headed to State

The 2022 State FFA Convention will be held Sunday afternoon through Tuesday, April 24-26, on the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities campuses and Minnesota State Fairgrounds. Over 4,000 FFA members and guests are expected to participate. The Sleepy Eye FFA is sending 60 members to State where they will participate in a variety of competitive events, attend general convention sessions, and enjoy the opportunity to network with their peers from around the state.
