Question: I’ve noticed you use the word “crash” and not the word “accident” when talking about incidents while on the radio, TV, and the newspaper. Why is that? Answer: I’d be glad to talk about this as I am passionate about this topic and it is certainly intentional.

Since I report to the EDA Board each month on the activity of the EDA resources in use, I like to share that information periodically in my articles. This information includes two active Revolving Loan Fund accounts totaling over $66,000 that are current and being repaid to the EDA. There are 13 current EDA Rehab and Business Startup Fund accounts totaling over $149,000 that are current and being repaid to the EDA. Finally, in 2021 there were five Sign and Awning Grants awarded to local businesses totaling over $14,000. At the March meeting the EDA approved three more Business Rehab and Startup applications and two Sign and Awning applications. I will provide details on these current applications later in this article. As I mentioned in last months article, having these applications submitted to the EDA is an encouraging sign of interest and commitment to the revitalization our business district and the properties within it.
