Brain Health

The human brain, though small in size, plays a major role in how our bodies function. With so many responsibilities, it is important to know what brain health is and how to support it. Brain health is described by the National Institute of Aging as how well a person’s brain functions across several areas. These areas include motor function (controlling movements and balance), sensory function (seeing, hearing, tasting, smelling), tactile function (feeling and responding to touch), cognitive health (thinking, learning and remembering) and emotional function (interpreting and responding to emotion). There are several ways to sustain brain health throughout the lifespan, allowing it to function as it needs to.
