Sleepy Eye FFA attends Region VI event

On Wednesday, Sept. 28th, FFA members from across Region VI gathered together for the annual Greenhand Day and Officer Workshop held in Windom. This workshop takes place to share and inform new members, Greenhands, about exciting opportunities that are available in FFA. Chapter officer teams were also invited to the event and attended the Chapter Officer Workshop.

Mason Sellner of Sleepy Eye, a freshman at SMSU in Marshall, was elected by the student body to represent the first-year (freshmen) students in last week’s Homecoming week events as part of the Homecoming Royalty Court. Sellner is majoring in Social Sciences Education and is sponsored by Enactus.

Sleepy Eye Public School news

Sleepy Eye Public School is five weeks into the school year and enjoying a sense of normalcy. We do have our safe return guideline available for our students and faculty but the focus finally moved away from pandemic-related conversations and everyone is moving on. We still experience cases in our building but those are just become part of our normal life events.

St. Mary’s launches Peace of Mind initiative

According to the Centers for Disease Control, one in five students in U.S. classrooms have mental and behavioral health symptoms significant enough to warrant diagnosis and treatment. About 60% of these children do not get the help they need. To combat these startling statistics, the Peace of Mind initiative was begun to support Catholic school leaders, teachers, parents and students through practical experiences and effective techniques.
