Students used business skills at BizTown

The Sleepy Eye Public School 5th graders and St. Mary's 6th graders attended Junior Achievement's BizTown in St. Paul on Nov. 15. They worked hard before they left as they learned how to balance a checkbook, interviewed for a job, and learned how to run a business. On the day of the trip, the students all had a job and had to successfully make a profit for their business. Students also had a chance to visit other businesses and spend money to help the town's economy. Overall the students had a wonderful trip. The Sleepy Eye Lions Club paid for transportation to BizTown. Submitted

Community Education News

The winter sports season is upon us and there may be some district residents who turned 60 and desire a VIP pass to home athletic events at the Sleepy Eye High School. These passes cannot be used at tournaments or playoff events. There are over 20 home events for boys and girls basketball during the season. Junior high games do not have an entrance fee. Passes are available in the Community Ed office during regular office hours. If you prefer, call in and request a pass and it will be available at the ticket stand the next time you come to an athletic event. Passes do not have an expiration date so please keep them from year to year.
