The Joy of Forgiveness

Psalm 32:1-5 Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. 2 Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord does not count against him and in whose spirit is no deceit. 3 When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. 4 For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer. Selah 5 Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord”— and you forgave the guilt of my sin.

Sleepy Eye Woman’s Club

The Sleepy Eye GFWC Woman’s Club met at the Divine Providence Fireside Room on Tuesday, March 11, for a joint presentation hosted by the GFWC Qui Vive Club. The focus of the presentation was health and wellness with Krista Heiderscheidt as guest speaker. Krista shared her own experience of having a heart attack and the warning signs that women need to watch for. Refreshments were served and the two clubs shared a discussion of the upcoming district meeting on April 12 at Windom.

There is hope

Some may remember the early-1960s hit song, “What Kind of Fool Am I?” It was written from the self-absorbed mindset of an insincere, unfaithful womanizer who bemoaned his loneliness after selfishly using those women for his own gratification. He dejectedly asks, “Why can’t I cast away this mask of play?”
