Bruce Donald Haala, age 72 of New Ulm died Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Oak Hills Living Center.
A visitation will be held from 4-6 pm on Monday, March 7, 2022 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – SOUTH chapel, and will continue from 10-11 am Tuesday at St.Paul’s Catholic Church in Comfrey.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 11:00 am at St.Paul’s Catholic Church in Comfrey. Burial will follow in Fort Ridgely Cemetery in rural Fairfax.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Elaine; daughters; stepdaughters; stepsons; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; other family members and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Diane Arnold-Haala; and a grandchild.
Bruce Donald Haala was born November 1, 1949 in Comfrey to Leonard and Beatrice (Hillesheim) Haala. He graduated from Comfrey High School in 1967.After graduation, Bruce served in the US Army at Fort Lewis Washington. Bruce owned Haala Trucking and hauled milk for AMPI for 36 years. He also worked 9years at Christensen Farms, until his retirement. In 2018, Bruce met and married the love of his life, Elaine (Pitts) Midtbruget. They enjoyed traveling together, bingo nights, the Minneopa buffalo, and spending time at family outings. He especially enjoyed Canadian fishing trips and fishing openers with his stepsons. He loved his “critters”, Molly and Digger and spoke of them often. Bruce was a proud member of the New Ulm American Legion Post 132 and the Sleepy Eye Servicemen’s Club. Bruce will be missed by all of us who knew and loved him. Blessed be his memory.
