Pollard, and NUA Eagles, take second at Buffalo invite

The New Ulm Area Eagles wrestling team took second place out of 10 teams at the Gerry Bakke Memorial Invite in Buffalo, Saturday, Jan. 8. The Eagles had four wrestlers competing in championship matches. Wyatt Pollard (of Sleepy Eye) placed second overall for the 145 weight class. PROVIDED

Eagles varsity hockey teams get three more wins each

The Eagles varsity hockey teams have been very successful so far. With just under one month to go in the regular season, the girls are 13-2. The boys have just over a month to go and are 10-3. Both notched 3 wins last week. Sleepy Eye students are among the stats leaders for both the boys and girls teams. Austin Uecker leads in goals with 11; Brooke Arneson leads the girls in goals with 17 and Julia Helget is second with 14; Helget leads in assists with 20.

I promise, I am not going to get all deep into "truth" and "big lies" but I do want to follow up just a little on what I wrote last week. I published the same column in the Redwood Gazette and also published it online for both newspapers. When I publish on our websites I also provide a link from Facebook. I can track how many people looked at the article on the website, but Facebook is where I see comments.

Common warning signs of mental illness

Trying to tell the difference between what expected behaviors are and what might be the signs of a mental illness isn't always easy. There's no easy test that can let someone know if there is mental illness or if actions and thoughts might be typical behaviors of a person or the result of a physical illness.
