This summer Robert Borth, owner of Borth Memorials, purchased the building near the corner of Highways 14 and 4 and relocated his monument and marker business there. Borth made substantial renovations to the building, including an attractive indoor showroom he created. “I wanted to provide a comfortable place for people to look at monuments in the winter or when the weather is bad,” said Borth.

There is also space in the adjoining shop to display many more monuments, and an outdoor display that draws the attention of passersby.

Borth serves clients in a wide area. “I can install a monument any place in the U.S.A.,” he said. “I sent one weighing 900 pounds down to Corpus Christi, Tex. three years ago.” He didn’t travel with it; someone there did the actual install.

“I usually sell within a 75-mile radius of Sleepy Eye,” Borth said, adding they were just in Savage, Granite Falls, Ivanhoe, Tracy and Mankato.
