During the 2015 Minnesota American Legion Department Convention in July, the Benjamin A. Remmele Post 7 was recognized for their community service work with the youth and community of Sleepy Eye and within the American Legion Organization.

During the 2015 Minnesota American Legion Department Convention in July, the Benjamin A. Remmele Post 7 was recognized for their community service work with the youth and community of Sleepy Eye and within the American Legion Organization. Post 7 Second Vice-Commander, Bett Jass, accepted the award during the convention held at Jackpot Junction.

The Award reads: “In recognition and sincere appreciation of outstanding service and financial assistance which contributed to the advancement of the American Legion community service programs and activities dedicated to God and Country.”

At their August meeting, Jass presented the award to Post 7 Commander Rick Mages, Adjudant Sandi Nydam and other post members.

Jass was recently elected as a Second District Vice-Commander for 2015-2016. She has been an American Legion member for over 15 years and is involved with the Sleepy Eye Honor Guard. Jass was the Second District Public Affairs Chairman last year and worked on the Constitution & Bi-Laws committee during the 2015 Convention. Jass will be working with Second District membership, community service events and other projects this year. She officially took office on August 2. Jass will continue to serve Post 7 as Second Vice-Commander.
