Public invited to view “Spa Day” for circus elephants.

Editor’s note: Circus show times are 2 and 5 p.m. The advertisement in the Reminder, submitted by the circus, included incorrect times.

The Pampered Pachyderms of the Carson & Barnes Circus are looking forward to their upcoming stop at Sleepy Eye’s Eagles Park/Prairie View Park, located at 7th Ave. SW, Saturday, July 18.

On July 18 at 12:30 p.m., the biggest stars of the circus are scheduled to receive full “Spa Treatment” from head to toe, and the public is invited to watch the Sleepy Eye Fire Department help out.

Lisa, Becky, and Tracy will be lathered, scrubbed, exfoliated, moisturized and pedicured, so they look and feel their best when they greet fans at that afternoon's big top performance. The process takes gallons of specially formulated “beauty soap” and hundreds of gallons of fresh water.

The all-new 79th Edition of the Carson & Barnes Circus also features a giant menagerie of exotic animals from around the world, which can be seen free of charge before each scheduled performance.

Elephant and pony rides are available for a small charge on the circus midway, along with many other exciting pre-show activities.

Carson & Barnes Circus show times are 2:00 and 5:00 pm. There is a charge to attend, however many stores in Sleepy Eye have free tickets for children who attend with a paying adult.
