Members of the Month

Tanisha Goblirsch is a senior at Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s, and she has been an FFA member for two years. Tanisha joined FFA because her best friend told her it was a great opportunity and her father said it would provide life experience.

Tanisha’s Career Development Event (CDE) team is Market Plan. She enjoys this CDE because marketing and business projects relate to her future job plans.

Tanisha’s favorite FFA activity is writing to elementary pen pals. She is also looking forward to trying new things during the rest of the school year.

Being in FFA has solidified Tanisha’s belief that hard work really does pay off. Two awards Tanisha will receive this year are her State FFA Degree and first place in the Region for her Proficiency in Ag. Sales.

Tristin Todd is a senior at Sleepy Eye Public School and he has been in FFA for two years. Tristin joined FFA to be more active and meet new people.

Tristin’s favorite FFA activity is the annual FFA Lock-In. He is looking forward to trying all of the new activities the program has to offer.

By being in agricultural classes, Tristin has learned a variety of things about production agriculture like how to farm and take care of livestock. He has also learned all of the careers available in agriculture including production and agribusiness.

Tristin has been a big help during FFA week, repairing several of the FFA Safety Games and helping set up and clean up after activities.

McKenzie Cselovszki freshman at Sleepy Eye Public School, and she has been in FFA for three years. McKenzie joined FFA to be more involved in her community and learn more about agriculture.

The CDEs that McKenzie has participated in include horse judging, Best Informed Greenhand, and Creed. Her favorite CDE team is horse judging because she loves horses and enjoys the experience of showing and judging them.

McKenzie’s favorite FFA activities are working at the Kiddy Barn and showing at the Brown County Fair. This year, McKenzie is excited to show pigs and goats at the State Fair.

Through agricultural classes, McKenzie has learned how agriculture is applied to our everyday lives, and FFA has helped her to speak in front of large groups. One award McKenzie is most proud of is placing within the top 10 at the Chapter Crop Show the past two years.

Officer of the Month

Jeni Kotten is a junior at Sleepy Eye Public School, and she had been in FFA for five years. She joined FFA to help expand her leadership skills and meet people from across the state.

Jeni is currently serving as Chapter Reporter, and her favorite part about her office is being a leader for others within the Chapter.

Jeni’s CDE Team is Poultry. Jeni loves broadening her knowledge of the poultry industry and meeting new people.

One of Jeni’s favorite FFA activities is the annual FFA Lock-In. She is also looking forward to State Convention because her CDE Team will be competing.

By being in FFA, Jeni has learned many skills she needs to be a leader. Some of the awards she has received include: Discovery Degree, Greenhand Degree, Chapter Degree, and 5th place at state for the Best Informed Greenhand CDE.
