Katelyn Johnson was chosen as the Lions Club Student of the Month for May.

At Sleepy Eye Public Katelyn is involved in tennis, basketball, FFA, 4-H and band. The offices she has held in school include FFA historian, 4-H state ambassador, 4-H county vice president and dairy ambassador.

In her church Katelyn is involved with the Trinity Youth Group and volunteers her time at the food shelf, on missions trips and cleaning ditches.

A personal value that Katelyn feels will help her succeed is working with animals, which has led her to seek a degree in Animal Science.

The greatest influence in Katelyn’s life has been her sister for being a good role model and always going one step higher or doing one thing further.

After high school, Katelyn plans to attend South Dakota State University and study animal science.
