The New Ulm business known as the Bohemian Bed and Breakfast was claimed by fire Saturday, July 2 at approximately 1:44 a.m.
New Ulm Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to the business/residence located at 304 South German Street.

As officers arrived on the scene, they found the front of the house engulfed in flames.

Police and fire fighters were able to rescue four victims from the home. Two were transported by helicopter to the Hennepin County Medical Center. A third victim was treated and released from the New Ulm Medical Center and the fourth was treated and released at the scene.

The New Ulm Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire after a lengthy battle. The State Fire Marshall was called in to assist in the investigation. Assisting the State Fire Marshall was an Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) Investigator who routinely helps out with large-scale fire investigations.

Four confirmed fatalities were found in the home by investigators initially with two additional victims found later that same day.

Names of the victims are being withheld upon identification being made by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner.

According to New Ulm Police Commander Dave Borchert, the investigation as to the cause of the fire is ongoing.

An official statement and press conference will take place as soon as information is received.
